WOULD YOU FORSAKE A MEMORY 121511 - SOLITARY WALK
James Michael Taylor
WOULD YOU FORSAKE A MEMORY
If what we do is what we are
And every pain will leave a scar
Love must leave a beauty mark
A light to guide us when it’s dark
And tenderness, a hope for more
And Trust, a key to any door
What comfort, then, if we should flee
Would you forsake a memory?
I don’t know the future of all that we did
The Past, it is known and the future is hid
And I can’t trust the future of a misconstrued past
It’s like setting my arm in a crooked hard cast
Though the price may be turmoil, I choose to be free
I’ll not forsake a Memory
Would it make my life simple just to sat we were wrong
For the sake of a rhyme or a line in a song?
Is there nothing more pressing than calming the storm?
Will pretending make ice when the water its warm
How can I hide when I’m hiding from me
I won’t forsake a Memory
if what we do is what we are
And every pain will leave a scar
Love must leave a beauty mark
A light to guide us when it’s dark
And tenderness, a hope for more
And Trust, a key to any door
What comfort, then, if we should flee
Would you forsake a memory?
