THE SEASONS OF THE HEART
The Seasons of the Heart, they come and go
Like the winter wheat that weathers snow
You and I will learn to fly.
Never let the music fade and die
And, if the seasons stopped turning
We'd all wish for Winter…

Something just broke and I think it’s my heart
It wasn’t an arrow. It wasn’t a dart.
And it mighta been a meteor that blew it apart.
(A heavenly body)
Something just broke and I think it’s my heart
Something just broke and I think it…

I suppose we've all known a bossy girl. They don't age well.

This is a Rick Babb song.
Given, he wrote it about Peggy and me, I rewrote the lyrics of the verses to be more specific. But the music and the chorus is his. My son, RaByn produced it and played the guitars and drums and bass.

The drum and keys track was on a CD sent to me and composed and performed by a friend, Don Landry. Instantly I wanted to put voices with it, so I did. Don likes it. Mission accomplished.

Maybe some day I will have a Cds-worth of songs about "Hannah." She has crept into my writing life and is a treasure. A fellow word smith from a different universe: The planet of Broken Mirrors.

One day Connie Ramsey called and let it slip

24 HOURS
When there ain't nobody listening
A cry is just a sound
When there ain't nobody watchin'
A tear just wets the ground
When nobody knows, nobody cares
When the only girl that ever loved you
Walks out the door and drives away…

This is my Katrina song.
THE NEW NEW ORLEANS WALTZ
There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
It's been the ruin of many a boy
And Lord knows I am one
Storms may come and storms may go
But the sun will always shine

YOUR VOICE
I hear your voice
I go get my ladder
Pull on my gloves
Climb up to the gutter
Where the leaves gather round
Talk about the weather
I hear your voice
I dig out our blankets
The 'lectric controller
Your grand mother's quilt…

EXPECTING
I keep expecting to come home and find you here waiting for me
And Time can't diminish the hopes in my heart or the ghosts in my dreams/sleep
In the darkness and cold sometimes Winter forgets there's a Spring
And I keep expecting…

SMART
If I'm so smart, why are you telling me what to do?
You say I'm smart as you times two
If I'm so smart, won't you be quiet and let me think
How did I get so lost, if I'm so smart?
If I'm so smart, quit telling me to move along

SUZY WOOZY
In trees that topped the tallest roofs
There lived some people known as swoofs
They built their houses up so high
The swoofs had wings and liked to fly
They flew to school. They flew to play
Most swoofs liked to climb that way…

FREEDOM
I started out with four chickens
Thot I'd let 'em run free
I found out: no more chickens
What a licking' freedom can be.
