This is a song I sang at the Hanfasting of Pam and Dave at Tupholme Abbey, Lincolnshire on 2nd July 2011. I was honoured to be asked to be the celebrant. The video shows photo footage.
Handfasting was legal in England until the 1753 Marriage Act, although ways were found around this until 1856. It was still legal in Scotland until 1939. It remains legal in the Channel islands.
