Sleep of the Autumn Tree
This song was written during the winter of 2006 in the Chicago area. I had fallen hopelessly in love. There was a train to catch and a flight halfway around the world involved.
Veejay Andres - melodica, vocals
JV Andres - guitar, vocals
Let’s meet by the school house
Under our Autumn tree
With the shade as our blanket
And the leaves as our sheets.
We’ll gaze through the branches
At some faraway scene
And close our eyes to dream.
You may have to coax me
With a tug on my sleeve.
A winter chill’s riding
On the crest of the breeze.
It’s ice seems to grip me
Every time that we meet.
Would I be a fool to sleep?
Sixty clouds float away.
Where they go I cannot say.
A whispering wind starts to blow.
In fading light the red leaves glow.
Say, “Goodnight.”
No. Say, “Goodbye.”
We know that time won’t pass us by.
Goodbye.

One of the most beautiful songs I've heard, so pure
