Burning Wood
The title track. At one point I had visions of everyone singing at the end of the album (and thank you to those of you that did), but I just couldn’t get it to sound right (I don’t really know what I’m doing after all). So instead of voices at the end of the song, I went with guitars. Enjoy!
BURNING WOOD
Sun going down on an early autumn day
Leaves are turning baby, winter’s on the way
Come and sit beside me in the quiet night
Here by the firelight
Never knew someone who loved me like you do
Sitting by the fire’s good enough for you
Some things money can’t buy
It’s the reason why
Living free feels so good
Like it should
Burning wood
Now that everyone’s gone
It’s what I’ve been waiting on
Fire’s low to the ground
Time slows down
Settle in and let me sing you off to sleep
In these woods so quiet, dark, and deep
Some things money can’t buy
It’s the reason why
Living free feels so good
Like it should
Burning wood
You could sing the phone book, and I'd probably be amazed. I hear elements of Garth Brooks, Don McLean, and - of course - a lot of original Keith Landry in this song. Great work, as usual! Regards, Steffen
Love this one Keith. Thanks again for inviting me to jam with you on the album!!!
love a good fire, thanks.
