All the Things I Never Said
There’s a line in an Indigo Girls song that says, “If you need to know that you weathered the storm of cruel mortality, a hundred years later I’m sitting here living proof.” For me, ever since hearing the words “cruel mortality,” they have always lived just under the surface everywhere I go. So one night, I grabbed my seldom-used nylon string travel guitar with this on my mind.
ALL THE THINGS I NEVER SAID
Cruel mortality is taking me away from you
And all the thing you never said we’d do
And all the things I never said
In reality, I tried so hard to hide the truth
Never left a shred of proof
I burned it all instead
Off I’ll go
And you’ll never know
So, what’s left of me and what I never meant to you?
And all the things you never said we’d do?
And all the things I never said?
Cruel mortality is taking me away from you
And all the things you never said we’d do
And all the things I never said
Keith. Seriously. This is my favourite KL track of all time. Utterly moving...stunning...
