On the Moon
Keith Landry
I’m betting we all wrote a pandemic song or two this year. As of the time I uploaded this song, I haven’t seen my parents in eleven months, and I haven’t seen my sisters in thirteen.
ON THE MOON
So, the word came down from the group home
No one in or out for a while
Living with a lockdown and the unknown
Is sure gonna cramp Kristen’s style
I won’t be over there soon
She might as well be on the moon
Mom and Dad, holed up together
Yeah, there doing all right
Riding it out like they would stormy weather
Playing cards all night
I won’t be over there soon
They might as well be on the moon
But the moon is lovely tonight
Hell, there’s shadows it’s shining so bright
And I’m thinking, if we all hold tight
We can keep it in sight
Here at home, we’re surviving
Me, the kids, and the wife
Fear of spreading the sickness is driving
Our distancing life
You won’t be over here soon
We might as well be on the moon
But the moon is lovely tonight
Hell, there’s shadows it’s shining so bright
And I’m thinking, if we all hold tight
We can keep it in sight
