Standing in the Center (Heaven and Hell)
Keith Landry
A few months back, Jim (MTC) posted an outstanding acoustic track which summoned up a clear-as-day memory from my childhood. The vividness of that memory resulted in this song… Amazing how such significant events in your life (like recognizing the once-in-a-lifetime chance to step into a Vermont dust devil) can be forgotten for so long, and then be brought back unknowingly by a well-played guitar.
Music is powerful stuff.
STANDING IN THE CENTER (HEAVEN AND HELL)
Standing in the center with the wind whipping ‘round my face
A miracle of air climbing up the mountainside
A glimpse into heaven playing with hell in this place
I’ve been given the chance to step inside
So quiet in the center of this tiny little twister
Just a taste of the danger of what could be
My hands in the leaves flying up faster
Heaven and hell spinning ’round me
Heaven and hell spinning ’round me
Heaven and hell spinning ’round me
Hmm.. Wonder where this idea came from...
Liking your lyrics Keith. Bee
Great stuff Keith! One day i will get to re-recording that track for you to use, but for now this is jammin. :)
Great stuff Keith! Love your guitar accompaniments. This one sounds like there's a second high part. Almost sounds like a mandolin
