Can’t help but wonder…

WHEN I’M GONE

You spend your whole life writing the words
Find the right way to say ’em and never get heard
The soul of an artist, laughing and crying
Here to sing to the world or die trying

I woke up this morning and thought this is the day
I put the guitar down, had no more to say
When nobody knows you, nobody hears
It might make you wonder if you’ve wasted the years

Will my story live on when I’m gone

Will someone discover when an age has gone by
All the pictures I’ve painted and ask themselves why
Nobody noticed all the sweet things I said
Will they finally know me long after I’m dead
