I think this is the first song that I've posted here under Mannequin Races that actually has a guitar in it. You can't really tell that it's a guitar but it's in there (middle section around the 1:50 mark). The guitar is heavily modulated but…
What I mean is, your Circuit Bending outshines that of World War Nine.
But check out my old, old AloneTone page ( http://www.alonetone.com/jackmerlot/tracks ) & listen to Skeleton Key 73 or Around & Aboot as good examples of what kinds of synth sounds I've managed; maybe you can give me some advice on how to get some better sequencer software into my flow so I'm not trying to play five instruments at once.
Keep up the good work.

Wow, the overall structural & textural aspects of this have me shaking my head out of wonder.
I play the guitar for World War Nine ( http://www.alonetone.com/worldwar9 ) but I also play electric bass & fill in on the Yamaha DD55 Drum Druid when necessary ( usually 'cause Miroslav is too hungover to come to band practice, but I digress ) but one thing I haven't ever gotten the hang of is keys/synths & such.
I've settled for using various filters & Nyquist plugins in Audacity to modify my guitar sound until it's pretty hard to distinguish from an ( amateur ) keyboardist circuit bending his way through some analogue modeling synthesis software, then jazz it up by using found sound object art as a form of collage, and if I get desperate, I'll set up PixiTracker or another tracker on my phone & hook it up to the line0 on the computer with a god damned eighth inch stereo mini jack, god damn it.
And, the hell if that don't work most of the time, just to make sound collages & have something to talk about besides the Trump White House or the Russians or the Wall to Keep Mexicans Out or...
This is a little short piece with some glitch and some fuzz guitar. The track isn't too inventive but I like how everything fits together. Comments and criticism are welcome. Thanks for listening and reading.
I've been testing out a new synth by Propellerhead Software called Parsec. My short song consists of four tracks of Parsec's with four different custom patches that I have created for it. It's basically a sic-fi/space/ambient instrumental…
This is an older song and hey, you'll finally get to hear me sing badly! This was under my old name Piscean Dream so I couple of you may or may not have heard this before. Thanks for listening!
This is a song I wrote for a girl I liked... I even performed a stripped down acoustic guitar only version for her. She loved the song but didn't exactly reciprocate how I felt. I'm a nice guy and she likes bad boys. Wish I could change that…

I love the juxtaposition of the dirty urbanism against sweet symphonic sounds. Great synthesizers! Good to hear it. It's the National Anthem of The Dirty Beats of America.
This song goes all the way back to my roots of writing music mostly on acoustic guitar and recording/playing all the instruments myself. Also my first 'proper' recording in my new studio space. Thanks for listening!

Ouch...poignant stuff. Love the stripped down arrangement for the intro, and then the build at 1 minute that seems to add so much weight to your words.
Just an experiment from a while back using multiple delay units. I hated it initially, but after not hearing it for a few months I decided there were enough interesting moments to warrant sharing.
Love playing with delay! So many creative uses and opportunities. What delay pedal(s) or software are you using for this? Very relaxing piece. Dreamy. Reverse delay is my favorite. :)
A favorite style of my wife... like Kris Kristofferson, in a way. Maybe more folk than Outlaw Country...? The song has great meaning for me.
Hope you like it!

Wonderfully laid back. I can picture myself sitting out on the porch in the country listening to this as the World passes me by for a bit. Very cool Doug!
This track is from the 1986 Scartaglen album "The Middle Path". The first tune "Jezaig" was composed by Breton musician Gilles Le Bigot. The second tune is one of the "Cantigas de Santa Maria" and is attributed to King Alfonso X of Spain

This man I knew too well
This man I know is gone
This man I see lying here
This man who died in my arms
I can't explain to you
His dark voice
It had a lot of power
It held a lot of pain
He made sure you heard
He made sure you listened
You feared…

Wow! That's freaking awesome! I love instruments like this and the fact that you made your own is killer! Lovely 3 track recording. Nice groove. I would love to hear you expand on this and combine it with some synths or something, but hell either way really really cool!
Hauntingly beautiful. Wish I could play like that! Is this a recording of your actual or a software instrument? Either way sounds really rich and warm and I like that!
I couldn't resist crossing swords with Alex on this deft song of his which left me quite touchéd!
*Inspired in part at least by accidental meat on meat.*

that o' hired hand of dread

I like this a lot! To my ear this sounds like a lost Smiths track - and that's just positive :)
Beautiful melody! Cool job!
Great song!!

It's a bonny tune ...
I would've been toast! Wonderful!

Cool piece of writing that is! Reminds me of some of favorite early 70's things
picturesque,,, lyrics,, music, and vocals all flow together so well
Instant favorite! Very well played on all instruments!
Great guitar work also - love the tendrils through the bridge.

Love the musical bed in the back with the backwards parts. The whole piece is really serene and transports the listener to another place.

That fuzz bass is freaking sick! Great vocals. Really sweet song. When the guitars come in around 1:25... YESSS!!!!
Those are some tasty guitars! Nice bass also and vocals. :)
Everything sounds really nice! Love the guitars and vocals. The background vocals sound great also.
Soothing and calming. Very beautiful. Also has a mournful quality to it.
Wonderfully laid back. I can picture myself sitting out on the porch in the country listening to this as the World passes me by for a bit. Very cool Doug!
Really nice chord progression. Very peaceful and has a great vibe to it. Cool.
Love the celtic feel to this! It just has a great old World feel and charm to it that can't be beat. The playing is top notch!
Cool! Awesome harmony vocals. Killer. I like the sparseness of this. :)

Cool song. Great voice. Nice lyrics! Thanks for you comment on my song Wolves. I love music from the 90's!

Pretty damn funky! Cool jam.
Extremely cinematic! Really sets the mood for something ominous to happen!
That's some beautiful playing and a great progression! Well done. :)
Nice! Your voice and guitar work really well together. Very Neil Young-esque indeed! Good stuff.
Hauntingly beautiful! This really sets a dark undertone. Well done!
