This song is based around a sample that I took of my dish washer. The sample starts out simple enough and then gets more chopped up at the end. The song evolved from there. Also in this song is a new pedal I got that is a photo theremin. You…
...ps. i play a yamaha 6310 trumpet [step bore] w/ a dennis wick cornet mouth piece [plus nec cornet-to-trumpet sak adapter]. : )
I don't know if you wondered which inst in general or which 'product' 'sorry if
My first composition that uses an odd time signature for a few measures. My drum fills are also more elaborate. It's just a little tune to bob your head to, tap your toe, you know, the good stuff!
nice title- nice groove -yeah. 1:37 makes me smile big ; D
Thanks for the comments/interest.
I am teaching some art and music to little munchkins three and a half days per week.
For years, I taught visual arts studies o the university level.
More soon, friend.

Thanks for these sounds and for your helpful comments on 'For Joy.'
For horn sounds, I use a combination of my own horn [acoustically/live recorded] and Garageband symphony samples [one of the 'jam packs']. The EQ-ing and time-based effect mix seems crucial. Having a long history around brass, I just try to adjust all of the above to get them to blend and sound reasonably natural.
As to relative 'prolificness,' I've been out of full-time work for too long. I teach part-time and have a backlogue of things that I tend to re-vamp.
Bless you and your efforts, man.

Well, that’s a tough one. I would suggest starting out with Burnt Weeny Sandwich; it’s primarily an instrumental album. And the compositions are great. Other suggestions, Apostrophe, Overnite Sensation, Roxy or Elsewhere, Baby Snakes, Shut Up n Play Yer Guitar, Sheik Yerbouti, We’re Only In it For the Money, Just Another Band From L.A., Chunga’s Revenge, the list goes on and in no particular order.
I can give you more info about computer voice thing by email.
this tune is great.
thanks for your support. My drums are samples from an old yamaha keyboard. I put the drums on four tracks, 2 left and 2 right. I haven't mixed them down yet. When I do I'll post the revised tune up and let you know. If you like the way the drums sound at that point I will be glad to tell you how I mix them. thanks again.

Compositionally this song started out with the drum pattern and grew from there. I'm not sure why I chose the title 'Mad Man' but in some ways I thought it was fitting.
Anyway, this song is dedicated to crazy geniuses whose academic work is…

Love the description of this song. It's interesting to note that quantum physicists are proving things today that people said not so long ago and were considered crazy for saying them. I dare you to try and watch What The bleep @#$##$...or something like that. It's about quantum physics. Crazy stuff..

Just an experiment from a while back using multiple delay units. I hated it initially, but after not hearing it for a few months I decided there were enough interesting moments to warrant sharing.
Love playing with delay! So many creative uses and opportunities. What delay pedal(s) or software are you using for this? Very relaxing piece. Dreamy. Reverse delay is my favorite. :)
A favorite style of my wife... like Kris Kristofferson, in a way. Maybe more folk than Outlaw Country...? The song has great meaning for me.
Hope you like it!
Doug
Wonderfully laid back. I can picture myself sitting out on the porch in the country listening to this as the World passes me by for a bit. Very cool Doug!
This track is from the 1986 Scartaglen album "The Middle Path". The first tune "Jezaig" was composed by Breton musician Gilles Le Bigot. The second tune is one of the "Cantigas de Santa Maria" and is attributed to King Alfonso X of Spain

This man I knew too well
This man I know is gone
This man I see lying here
This man who died in my arms
I can't explain to you
His dark voice
It had a lot of power
It held a lot of pain
He made sure you heard
He made sure you listened
You feared…

Wow! That's freaking awesome! I love instruments like this and the fact that you made your own is killer! Lovely 3 track recording. Nice groove. I would love to hear you expand on this and combine it with some synths or something, but hell either way really really cool!
Hauntingly beautiful. Wish I could play like that! Is this a recording of your actual or a software instrument? Either way sounds really rich and warm and I like that!
I couldn't resist crossing swords with Alex on this deft song of his which left me quite touchéd!
*Inspired in part at least by accidental meat on meat.*

Bizarre and terrific. I'd have had no clue what it was if you hadn't said. Great sample. What were you playing it through?
nice panning effect!
Gotta love a good dishwasher tune! Nice!
Sounds like a heartbroken fishing boat starting its shift, and people think fishing boats don't have hearts.
Great sounds!
reminds me of the day when 8 bit was awesome. Definitely like the sounds.
video game sounds! awesome! Nicely done.

Thanks for taking the time to comment; many intriguing sounds here! ; )
What a cool, eclectic, mix. Liked this one, especially the sound of the piano running through it and counterpointing the glitchiness.
Fascinating! I like! Truly creative

Love the musical bed in the back with the backwards parts. The whole piece is really serene and transports the listener to another place.
