G––––––––Am–––––C———––D–––––––
Oh Lord, how I remember the time that I last saw her
G————Am–––––––D7sus———––G
Her face betrayed the suffering she couldn’t hide
G———––Am———–C———–D———–
Beneath the covers lying, her illness sanctifying
G–––––Am————D7sus————G——(G/F#)
A lamb given for others by merit of the Son
Em——D/F#—G——C––G––D–Em——
Oh—————— Lord, how I remember
C—––D—––Em–––––Am———––D—–
Oh—————— that Thursday afternoon
C—––D—––Em—––C——G—––D———G–(G/F#)
Oh—————— My father, James, watching over
Em—–D/F#—G———––Am–––––––D—–
Oh—————— and the stillness of her room
Alone we prayed together, the strength to speak she couldn’t muster
She closed her eyes, and wore a gentle smile of peace
Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death
These words I prayed not seeing how soon her hour would come
Em––––D/F#––––C/G
It should be no surprise
––––––––G———D———––Cma7
When in His footsteps the faithful follow
Em–––––––D/F#———––C/G
And His Mysteries become our own
–––––––G–––––––Em——— Am7—D
His will be done on earth as it is in hea-ven
Oh Lord how I remember Dads’ call that morning after
Her holy Thursday past, good Friday had to come
Her room, a sanctuary
Mark led the Hail Mary
Heads bowed, we said goodbye to our beloved one
Em——D/F#—G——C——G—D––––Em——
Oh—————— Teary eyes and soft whispers
C—––D—––Em———––Am————D—–
Oh—————– God’s flower in full bloom
C—––D—––Em—––C———–G—–D———G–(G/F#)
Oh—————– With saints and angels watching over
Em—–D/F#—G———––Am————D—–
Oh—————— all gathered in her room

Broken, given, joined to the cross of Jesus Christ

Consumed, she lives(we live), redemption through the Son of God
