My Father

My wife got me a mandolin for either Christmas or a birthday and I think this was one of the first songs I wrote on it.

My Father

Here in this foreign land
The Lord God takes my hand
One day - the Promised Land
And no more I’ll cry
Down under earthly skies
My Father hears my sighs
Say’s “Child, dry your eyes
The victory is won”

Follow these lights
Follow these words
Follow this call and come to goodness
These darkest of times
He shines with mercy
as never before

The food of the world
It leaves you hungry
So nourish yourselves with the Truth I speak
So come to Me, your Heavenly Father
Who patiently waits

Repent of your sins
I will forgive you
My mercy exceeds my justice
And graces I’ll send to you, my children
Come live in My Will

Here in this foreign land
The Lord god will take your hand
One day - the Promised land
Andno more you’ll cry
Down under earthly skies
Our Father hears your sighs
Says “Child, dry your eyes
For the victory is won”
