Tessellations
I place a dust sheet over chairs
Where we would sit, hold each other tenderly
No need to dwell on it
No need to dwell here for long
It feels like time has moved
Where we spilt wine and paint all on carpet tessellations
Conversations empty
Bereft, where there once was plenty
There’s a solitary tear falling
Just a single droplet
It does not even feel that tough
I’m sure I shed eleven when it meant something
We came apart
Where once the ties that bind bound quite seamlessly
No need to dwell on it
No need to dwell here for long
It feels like time has moved
Where we spilt wine and paint on the carpet’s tessellations
Conversations bereft,
Where there once was plenty
Here’s a solitary tear
Forming just a single droplet
And it doesn’t feel that tough
I’m sure I shed eleven when it meant something
There’s a solitary tear
Forming just a single droplet
And it doesn’t feel that tough
I’m sure I shed eleven when it meant something
