Rigor Mortis
rinyville
Why write a lovesong?
I could tell you my truth in three chords and some words
But you’d be hurt and think of me wrong
Now I’m done with explaining, the bruises, the pain and
The scars are all down in this song
Yeah I know I’m the bad guy, and you’re just a little white lie
But now that we’re done
I’ll pack up my suitcase, tie up these shoelaces
Like a rope around your neck and I’m gone
No longer your petulant silence and sighs will speak through your eyes
You’ll never admit you’ve been wrong
You believe in your arrogant license of cries
Which just makes you feel good and feel strong
This is my fare thee well from your devilish hell
those damn wedding bells, they rang just a bit too long
Sing your damn requiem, I’m a wreck, you’re a scam
I just wish I had known all along
This might look like revenge, but I’m beaten and drenched
I hope you’re happy to see me this way
I will finish this dance, that’s so full of pretense
Pretending is all you display
You might look like those beauty queens out of those movie scenes
In virginous white, and with lovely bouquets
But those flowers have withered, and you so carefully slither
With your snakebite, ending this fake life
But blaming me for the betrayal
Oh I’m off to horizons where I’m sure you can’t find me
Still you’ll be in my nightmares for years
No escape, there’s no hiding, your false smile is guiding
me through all my doubts, all my fears
one day when I find peace of mind and rewind all those
memories of anger and tears
I hope the clouds way up there will have vanished
And this grey sky just suddenly clears
There’s one bullet left in this song like a gun
With trembling fingers the barrel is close to your face
I hold on to this shaft of a song without puns
full-of discontent and full of disgrace
The last sound you’ll hear is not a bitter sweet cry or a tear
or a yearning for a love that has gone wrong
No, it’s my hand on the trigger, you’ll be mortis, you’ll be rigor
You’ll be gone after I fire my gun
No, it’s my hand on the trigger, you’ll be mortis, you’ll be rigor
You’ll be gone after I fire my gun
Vooral La vie sans toi is geweldig.
Deze is mijn favoriet maar ik vond alle nummers bijzonder goed. Je stem is zo vol emotie ik voel een beetje als een voyeur... Als je planne hebt om te touren kan ik je enkele adressen in België aanraden.
