Recorded with Classical Guitar, Irish Whistle and Fender Jazz Bass. I wrote this a few years ago and rerecorded it this week.

Winter Solstice
Written by Greg Connor

When the G days are short, and the C evening’s so D long
And the C wind is D shaking the G trees
When the cold snow crunches C beneath your D feet
And your C cheeks are D starting to G freeze

Light a C candle, D I’ll C be home G soon
On this C Solstice G night of the D year
The C Sun starts to G climb from D this evening G on
It’s the C darkest D time of the G year

When the G site of daylight has C all but D gone
And the C ground is D hard as G stone
When the dark of night just C goes on and D on
Stay C close to the D warmth of our G home

When the G dark of night, meets the C candle D light
And the C flame D flickers, and G glows
When the shadows dance on the C cold hollow D night
Rest C assured that D I’m coming G home
