I'm Here to Give You the Bad News

Written and recorded for the Record Every Month Challenge in March 2023. I’m thinking of trying to record a single each month this year. This would be the A side for March.

The idea started bubbling up in my head at the tail end of the RPM Challenge in February but I didn’t get to it until the project was over so here it is a month later. It feels like the rhythm guitar parts are as close as I’ll ever come to being Stevie Ray Vaughn. No offense to Stevie Ray.

The rhythm guitar tracks are my Les Paul Standard into a Chicago Stompworks Blooze Maker into a Fender Deluxe Reverb. The leads are the same guitar and amp with the pedal chain a Dunlop Crybaby (the Gary Clark, Jr signature model) into the Blooze Maker into a Wampler Tumnus.
