Two More Weeks to Go
I’ve done an RPM Challenge style album in a month (10 song or 35 minutes) every month in 2020 (except January). I told myself I was going to take October off and just work on re-recording old songs. That plan didn’t last long and eventually I found myself noodling together simple little songs that are more like exercises in things like polyrhythms and layering harmonies. Not really songs per se, unless you’ve been listening to a lot of King Crimson… which I’ve been doing.
Here is the first of 10 songs for the month. This one has two guitars playing nearly the same thing but in two different time signatures. Polyrhythms. I think it sounds cool. Does it hold together as a song? Not really, but I like it.
The guitars are all Gibson ES-335 into a Klon KTR and two amps, a Vox AC15 and a Fender Bassbreaker 15. The little double bend following the vocal added a Wren and Cuff Tri Pi 70 before the Klon.
I’d add the lyrics, but you can just read the title.
