Here Comes Round Two (2024 Version)
Hello and welcome to the first song from Quarantine Tunes Volume Eight, also known as the eighth round of The Great 2015 Re-Recording Project, also known as the highlight reel from the 2020 50/90 Challenge.
Or something like that.
I had plans to make this super heavy with fuzz boxes on all of the guitar tracks. When it came to recording time though I just cranked my Fender Deluxe Reverb to a ridiculous volume and added a Klon pedal as a boost and ended up with this quality rock and roll guitar sound. On the rhythm tracks at least. The leads used a DI signal so they don’t quite have the blessed volume magic.
Specifically, the rhythm tracks are my Gibson ES-335 Pro into a Klon KTR overdrive pedal into the aforementioned Fender Deluxe Reverb with the volume set around five and the tubes saturating nicely. The leads are my Gibson Les Paul Custom into a Real McCoy Customs RMC10 wah pedal into a Wren and Cuff Tall Font Russian into the same Klon KTR into a Seymour Duncan Vapor Trails into both a Fender Bassbreaker 15 and a Vox MV50 Clean, both of which were running direct into my USB audio interface through their cabinet simulators.
A
here comes round two
it can’t have you
its comes around again
we can get through
B
we came so far
but here we are
we can’t escape it
beyond a doubt
we’ll work it out
we’ll work it out
C
One more go round
not too profound
we’re back once again
I never wanted this to happen to you
B2
Thought we were safe
in our safe space
not so, not likely
on the attack
it comes roaring back
comes roaring back
