Derailed Plans
Robert James
The second song finished for this year’s RPM Challenge is the last one started. I sort of like the chorus. I liked the verse more as I was working on it than I do now that it’s done, but it’s not bad. Overall I give this one an okay, but nothing more. Once again it’s way too long and is more or less just Eminor and Dmajor. Originality and variety are not the strong points this year.
All of the guitars are a Gibson ES-335 Pro through both a Vox AC15 and a Fender Bassbreaker. All of the tracks used a Ryra The Klone overdrive pedal. The rhythm also used a Malaise Forever Black Lives Matter, and the leads used a Wren and Cuff Super Russian.
Verse 1
It’s what you do
You will pull through
It’s coming true
It all works out for you
It’s all for you
Chorus
There are a million reasons
No need to pick just one
Bring on the change of seasons
Give yourself a chance to see
Verse 2
Give it some time
See what you find
Make your mind
Wait for the clock to chime
The clock to chime
Chorus 2
Look to the smallest details
To show you what’s to come
And when your plans are derailed
What else are you gonna do
