It Happens

As a warm up for the RPM Challenge I have gotten into the habit of digging up old mostly forgotten songs from my carefree youth and recording new demos. This year seems to be mostly focused on a band I played in between 1997 and 2000. This song was written shortly before the band broke up and is therefore more forgotten than most. I do remember having fun with this one, even if we didn’t play it for long.

every once in a while
no matter how hard I try
I can figure things out
I can get things right

it doesn’t happen too often
its certainly not the norm
when all the stars are aligned
it seems to come out right

its almost like magic
things just go right for me
so when I feel tragic
I just think of today

every once in a while
things just don’t seem so bad
I wish I could hold it
