No Happy End
Robert James
I ran out of 50/90 gas in late July when I was at 27 songs. I was trying to make a decent quality demo of each idea and it bogged me down to the point that I stopped trying. Now that we’re in September I’m trying to make really quick and dirty demoes of everything. This was idea #22. Let’s file this one under… eh. The lyrics are just meaningless filler.
I was in my dining room recording the guitar parts (all Les Paul) using a GarageBand amp sim and headphones. As I hit record for a take on the solo my wife walked into the room. I put on my best rock face for her and she just stood there laughing at me. The take was sloppy and the timing at the end was pretty bad, but I kept it because it made her laugh.
Do you know the way to go
I can’t seem to tell
Is there any way to know
I can’t figure it out
I’ve been searching
All these years
From what I can tell
It all ends in tears
Do we have a destination
I have no idea
Is there any goal to reach
Not that I can see
Can we look out
And see what’s ahead
It’s no story book
There’s no happy end
