Thats Not How Its Supposed to Be
Robert James
2024 50/90 Challenge idea number 13 becomes finished song number five.
Five down, 45 to go. We’re 10% of the way through the challenge!
I found out the hard way that using an apostrophe in the song title here at Alonetone means you cannot use the file in the embedded mp3 player on the 50/90 website. This title should have three apostrophes in it. Insert the frustrated sigh here.
I like this one more than I usually like my crummy songs. I like the chorus a lot. I like the little pre chorus. The verse and the break in the middle are okay. Should it be a little faster? Probably. Should I have kept the harmony vocal out of the chorus? Maybe. Should I have used the wah-wah pedal more? OBVIOUSLY!
The rhythm guitar tracks are my Les Paul Custom into a Klon KTR into a Keeley D&M Drive into both a Fender Bassbreaker 15 and a Vox MV50 Clean, both of which running direct outputs with built in speaker emulation. The lead guitar is my SG Standard into a Real McCoy Customs RMC10 into a Wren and Cuff Tall Font Russian into a Klon KTR into a Seymour Duncan Vapor Trails into the same two amplifiers.
Chorus
That’s not how it’s s’posed to be
I don’t know how you can’t see
It’s not like it’s down to me
That’s not how it’s s’posed to be
Verse 1
Land of the free
Or so it seems
Right at the brink
I guarantee
Pre chorus
Be something better
Never again
Verse 2
Waiting to hear
As it draws near
So much to fear
Nothing is clear
Bridge
Come what may
There’s no way
What you say
It’s today
What do you know?
