Ross Gay poem “Dying is an Art” used as the narrative in the piece. In making this piece I listed to the audio of Ross Gay over and over and really attempted to not listen to the words and their meanings but how i felt by the way he said the words. I then laid down a guitar track on top that was my “conversation” with Ross as he was speaking. The underlying beat was meant to keep tempo and remain minimal through the piece in its entirety.
