This track is from week 6, which had a special guest (my little brother Zane), and as with all even week tracks, this was extremely rough. The original idea behind this was that it was going to be a Communism jam (based on the name of the song, which I said by accident when trying to say “tools”), which we originally thought would be minor key, and full of strong rhythmic elements. However, we decided that the best way to do this was to use period-shifted delay loops on Adam’s computer, as it sounded pretty cool the night before. Come to find out, this did not really work. So, instead, we have a mix of free time and slo-metal with computer noise behind it. Also, we must confess that the end part (at least the programmed synths and drums) was written ahead of time. For the most part, we stuck with fairly traditional instruments on this one, with the exception of my guitar, which had various pieces of metal attached through, and whose pickups I used as a microphone for some of the screaming. -JM
