Catch Me
As February and the RPM Challenge approached, Margaret was surprised to find herself gravitating toward country music this time around, but she rolled with it and finished the lyrics in time for us to lay down some scratch tracks on 2/10. Over the next couple of weeks, several folks joined us at the studio to record additional parts, resulting in this upbeat tribute to movin’ on.
Margaret Bibb – lyrics, songwriting, vocals, arrangement
Robbie Robinson – guitars
Cody Collum - piano
John Justice - drums
John “JD” Di Dio – harmonica
Billy Craig - mandolin
Kenny Tannehill – background vocals, arrangement
Mike Anders – background vocals
Kevin Craig – bass, recording, arrangement, mixing
Catch Me
by Margaret Bibb
Well, you know that everybody’s got a limit,
and I do believe you’ve just exceeded mine.
I’ve been looking at a world without you in it,
and at least from here the view is mighty fine.
So catch me if you can, I’m movin’ on now.
Meet me at the top and we’ll share the view.
But I won’t stay down here in all the anger and the fear.
I’m going forward, with or without you.
I’m so tired of all the hate and aggravation,
it’s amazing how so many seem so blind.
It’s easy to throw blame and accusations,
and a harder thing to love and just be kind.
So catch me if you can, I’m movin’ on now
Meet me at the top and we’ll share the view.
But I won’t stay down here in all the anger and the fear.
I’m going forward, with or without you.
