Fear of the Unknown
I know that they said the rain was coming.
I look and I see that it’s already there.
I’m gonna get wet unless I start running.
I‘ll have nothing dry to wear.
I guess finding out late is better than nothing.
Now I wanna know when it’s gonna be clear.
I have a plan - I want to do something, to head off a thing that I fear.
I look to the left, I look to the right,
Look up and down, I see there’s no one in sight.
I’m all alone, not feeling up to the fight.
There’s no need for shame, you won’t be disgraced
For fearing the unknown or what you might face.
Try and take solace in what we all go through.
It happened to me. It could happen to you.
There’s no need for shame, you won’t be disgraced
For fearing the unknown or what you might face.
So try and take solace in what we all go through.
It happened to me. It’ll happen to you.
The left is so strange, the right is so mean.
I’m in the middle, and I’m pretty green.
I’m looking for others who believe in similar things.
What do you see? Wwhat do you want?
What do you get, is it possible or not?
I wanna know. You know it won’t be free.
I used to believe that information would be the thing to set us free,
But now I can see how it’s all distorted.
We believe what we want to believe.
There’s no need for shame, you won’t be disgraced
For fearing the unknown or what you might face.
Try and take solace in what we all go through.
It happened to me, now it’s happened to you.
If you wanna go fast, go it alone.
If you wanna go far, don’t try it on your own.
We’re better together, helping each other carry on.
