Prisoners

Trying out a new strat: not letting myself work on details on the computer until the skeleton of the song is complete. Result is a lot of variety in songwriting, but a bit rougher arrangement/mix.

Yesterday I made a friend.
Someone I could confide in.
I got a feeling
A feeling I may never have again.

Some days are better than others.
Dining with my sisters and brothers
I got no reason
no reason to turn away again.

Somewhere, somehow I must get out
out of my shell (how dare you!)
And get well…

I’ve calculated and the odds are awful
but I’m all in anyway.

She’s got no reason to rattle the cage.
We’re rounded up like cattle
but we’re not prisoners,
we’re visitors and listeners,
practitioners with a job to do.

(clavinet solo)
(vangelis quote)

Sargent Pepper and dig the guitar lines and sense of the bedroom recording possibly!

I love this - not rough at all. The lyrics are really compelling. Love the bridge….

It gets cooler and better the more I listen to it. I love the vibe, the lyrics. Awesome

Nice song! You mentioned it was rough, but it doesn’t sound that way. I think you’ve captured it.
