I love Jethro Tull, and this song is a large part of why. I did not want to simply recreate Aqualung…Ian and JT do the best possible version. I just wanted to pay homage to it. This follows the same dynamic structure as the original, and keeps the time sig changes as best as I was able, but I’ve given some new sounds, and kept it at a steady medium tempo which gives it some ‘soul’, I think. I’d love to be able to record vox for this, but I cannot. I could sing it all day long, but I have no way to record. So this is up as a “backing track” looking for an adventurous singer. It will take someone who either knows or is willing to learn the original, but also has the chops to take the lyric on this somewhat different ride.
