The glimmer of light

As the wind blows the beautiful colour from the trees

That first glimmer of light
enters my room
Bringing with it daylight
seems too soon
The darkness of the night
Hangs there in the room
The grey skies reflect it
And all I feel is the gloom
Of winter closing in on me

to see summertime gone
No more harvest moon
No more golden sunsets
Just the grey of this gloom
