I close my eyes every night and I dream I have a hold of you
You take me in hand with your crooked wand
And Make me feel so blue
The night gets dark and starts to bleed it’s emotion over me
My tear awake the devil inside and he makes a fool of me, makes a fool of me

The nighthawks at the dinner table crucify my mind
They tear up all my thought in pieces
causing the morrow to be unkind
Poetry and prose does not sooth this un-contented mind
I’m on fire I need water but whiskey is on my mind, whiskey on my mind whiskey on my mind

Break

Down on the street where the worlds gone bad
the pavements cold and life is a drag
I lie in my cardboard bed awake
dreaming of you home and safe

How life’s unfairness laughs in my face
As I’m the one walking the streets in disgrace
