A very fun Irish trad tune! This is a rough cut that I think sounds pretty good. It's got all instruments together all throughout the song, the way it might be played at a session.

Here's a current draft of a traditional tune I really like. There are several recorded versions out there.

I'm still around :) not much time for recording lately, but I did take my little harp out by the pond a couple of weeks ago. You hear a little waterfall, the breeze, and some birdsong in the background. Pretty lovely setting for a pretty lovely…

An in-progress tune I started playing today on my new old harp. Sounds pretty good even just as it is; but I'm imagining it with some light percussion, a little violin, and maybe a guitar? We'll see how it goes.

I wanted to record a version of this lovely traditional East Coast Canada / USA tune. It's been done many times, in different ways, with variations on the lyrics. I've leaned on Solas's and Stan Rogers's versions, and added a verse of my own…

It’s hard to explain away---- the stars in the sky
And it’s hard to explain away---- what happened to you and I
A slow entanglement---- of dreams and desire

Well what a day rain, rain, and then more rain I think we're going to need an arc if this carries on ....I need some sunshine
I need the sunshine
I need its glow
I need the sunshine
to make me whole

This is an old New Zealand whaling song. The popular recent version was recorded a cappella by The Longest Johns. I'm using the chords suggested by Piotrek_G on ultimate-guitar.

This is a love song for Idaho. Funny thing is I've never even been to Idaho, but I dreamed the chorus and the happy little riff some years ago, and it's stuck with me ever since. So, I filled it in with some verses and an outro that capture the…

A simple guitar groove. Haven't sat in a coffee shop since before the lockdowns, and I miss the atmosphere and the music! This tune feels to me like sitting in a cafe.

Great version! Always loved this song. I sing a musically quite different version, but I think I like your rendition better, Pat!
Another French folk song that I thought I’d have a go at recording today. It’s a lovely little tune about gathering around the table with friends. I learned this one from one of Marcel Bénéteau’s CDs.

Thanks Wayne :) I'm really enjoying learning and playing traditional folk tunes lately.
I'll Tell Me Ma is a folk song in the Irish tradition. I recorded it with acoustic instruments, multiple vocal tracks, and spoons for the main percussion, to give it that kitchen party feel!
I did it in the key of C. Not exactly normal, but…
