A Piece of Mischief

We wrote it and recorded the basic bits in December, 2009, but I didn’t add vocals for quite some time. It’s a sketch of something that will end up on our second LP, whenever that comes into fruition.
For now, here it be.

A Piece of Mischief
You should have seen the mask I made out of lies.
The added touch of winter was written and lost, severed and thrown away.
You wouldn’t believe the path, constructed of sunrise, that came to wash the past of widow lust, and then sets into grey.
Picking at pieces of numb-cut, razor tongue debris.
I’m broken between the hands that offered up so gently,
a virtue comprised of sand that came from the spoils I offered to the land.
Pining and the lackadaisical maneuver merge and unfold.
Picking at pieces of numb-cut, razor tongue debris.
I began to wash the winter off my skin.
I wash my hands of you.
So we call out to the thieves who stole from our plates;
melted away with the rest of the plague.
Sell our desires just to stay between the lines.
Pining and the lackadaisical maneuver merge and unfold.
I’m picking at the pieces of numb-cut, razor tongue debris.
I began to wash the winter off my skin.
I began to wash my hands of you, you bastard.
Great crunchy soundbed, and the vocal is awesome! Love the mix of heavy and tender.
