I watch the sun fall into a thousand silent shards.
Blinded, I bask where it all comes to pool.
Suddenly everything's okay.
But they're building right on top of me, and bearing
gifts made out of my own bones.
I hear the broken waves sing…

We're cut off like the burden of branches.
And we are all dropped,
down the well.
The sweetness of not having ventured
or ever gained much,
down the well.
I'm swimming with my old friends.
we don't need no rope.
We were caught with…

The coveting of mystery is not what it used to be.
So silent, we sway as if there was nothing wrong.
So I keep away from me as you get the best of me.
This violent reaction brings longing and painful new poison.

We are stolen in both bedlam and peace.
Our riddance is good for queen and country.
Take these pieces and break them into threes.
You slip right out of your self,
and I watch the empty vessel fall away.
We are left holding both the scissors…

I've been tinkering with this one for a week or two. It still needs vocals, and to have the midi drums swapped out with live drums, and some tighter bass work, but it's coming along.

This one sat around for quite a while collecting dust until I picked it up a couple days ago and started tinkering with it. I think I like it.

Extravagant and clean and practised, oh, so very well,
they pose and fall and knead and climb, unclothed yet practical.
The ceiling sets the scene and I am reminded not to go.
I'm at the mercy of this posthumous woe.
Never seen again…

This was the very first Eugene Hammond track; indeed, the track that inspired me to start this up as a separate and distinct project from everything else in the first place. I revisited this track last month, rebuilding it from the ground up…

I little fun I had over the weekend.
About 6 layers of guitar and a little something from the puremagnetik Grand Piano micropak.

Oh, you know, usual band stuff. We’re from the middle of nowhere, played some shows there, recorded an album… um… I think we’re kind of on an unofficial hiatus at the moment though. It’s a simple question of time and distance and other such trivialities. We had a really busy year or so with TCA anyway, and I think sometimes it’s good to take a step back to get a fresh angle on things. So I’m sure we’ll be back at it later this summer.
In the meantime, I have a new project I’ve been working on for the last couple weeks, called Eugene Hammond’s Ramshackle Black Packard. So far I’m just sketching things out and making some quick recordings. I plan on sitting down and recording a proper LP this summer.
