Robot Rhythm Section (D & G)

This is my Robot Rhythm Section (tm) playing D & G chords over and over and over

I’ve long used drum machines & looper pedals to provide rhythm section support in my musicating, and I recently got a new toy that could become the ultimate Robot Rhythm Section – a Roland P-6 Creative Sampler

A nice feature of the P-6 is you can assign probability values to the notes in a sequence, providing random variations on the patterns & hopefully making them less boring

I loaded it up with a bunch of samples pulled from looper pedal backups & came up with some music made for live musicians to play along with

Practice using this as a 60 bpm backing track, maybe start with some D major scale exercises and see what you come up with

The samples in this came from playing guitar through pedals or from drum machines. I sourced them via WAV files from my looper pedal backups (it's last in the chain of my guitar pedal board). The original loops included heavily processed guitars and the P-6's scatter & delay effects are well represented here. Another nice feature of the P-6 is output routing; you can manage what is processed and what bypasses the EFFECTS bus
