But four young Oysters hurried up,
All eager for the treat:
Their coats were brushed, their faces washed,
Their shoes were clean and neat--
And this was odd, because, you know,
They hadn't any feet.
Four other Oysters followed them,
And yet another four;
And thick and fast they came at last,
And more, and more, and more--
All hopping through the frothy waves,
And scrambling to the shore.
One of six pieces created by placing contact mics under either side of the bridge of a cümbüş (Turkish stringed instrument a bit like a banjo). One side came from a Zoom RFX300 with a feedback loop, the other went to a Zoom H4n digital recorder…
Created using feedback between a landline and mobile phone placed in close proximity. No post-processing apart from fade in/out and normalization. Submitted to Sound-In for 15-18/8/2019.
Five different channels of affected sound via Lexicon LXP-5, Zoom RFX-300, and EHX Stereo Memory Man. Original sound was created by a short length of wound guitar string on a relatively flat and slightly rusty piece of sheet metal. Mixed via an…
Took a walk up to the local creek to try playing with some late-night bullfrogs (about 10pm). Kept to just playing short bursts, as arhythmically as possible. Submitted to Sound-in for 10-13/7/2019.
The theme this week at Sound-In was, naturally, the 50th anniversary of the first manned moon landing. I decided to try a first of my own; cover the bell of my tenor sax with a foil pie plate to see how the sound and response might be changed…

Created from a few seconds of sound caused by three FM radios interfering with each other. Stretching and noise reduction gave this result. Submitted to Sound-In 29/5-1/6/2019.
Jaw harp processed through EHX Stereo Memory Man>Lexicon LXP-5>Zoom RFX-300. This sounds remarkably similar to part of a piece I recorded 35 years ago using a totally different set-up (Mini-Moog into time lag accumulator).
Not at all what it seems. Sounds were created by putting a small dynamic mic onto a little battery-powered amp to create feedback. This was then modulated by playing extremely high notes on a clarinet (using lower teeth to adjust reed pressure…

A reading, with effects from a Lexicon LXP-5, of two poems created using the Microsoft Word thesaurus feature and an algorithm of my own devising to create semi-random word sequences. "Peace" and "Love" are the two poems used, "No Understanding…

Haha! Decided to check Google translate to see if Fakawi existed in any language, as I'd just made it up for the title. Turns out it's a Maori word for state; not sure what meaning of that but like that it could mean the state of the weather.
Comments on trawnajim's stuff
nice ... stretch workings... they all seem to have the same quality or type of sound effect in them ... the stretches .. do.
This is cooler - the SE-02 seems to be quite a nice synth~!
yes it is filtered funky indeed..
Ha ha, yes of course! Wasn't thinking of that at the time, but it is appropriate.

Thanks for doing that, Jim. Really liking the way it turned out.
Very nice, but all too brief. Reminds me of the short pieces on Eno's Another Green World album.

A sumptuous sonic stew. Thanks!!
