Two Minds

This is a song in two perspectives. It opens with a twinkling theme which moves throughout space. The first perspective is a man who is lost in a world of worry and has delusions of grandeur. He can’t possibly get over the death of his father or his brother’s poor mental health. He dreams fallen kings and angels from the hospital bed where he lies in a coma after getting struck by lightning (broken stars, fallen angels). At his side sits a woman, his lover and second perspective, who somehow feels closer to him now than ever and wonders if he’ll ever be all right. His health takes a sharp and sudden turn to the worse; his pulse races, his blood pressure soars and he goes into a seizure. Everyone is incredibly startled and it seems his time has come. Yet, somehow he pulls out of it and awakes, sees his love, and they embrace and converge perspectives to sing the final chorus. The beginning twinkling theme comes in and gently fades. Notice the struggle between the major and the minor as both foreshadowing and a detail which signifies the dichotomy of the two perspectives. The form is ABA,BA,CA,A.
