contemplating captivity

I went to the Brookfield Zoo with my cousin and nephew a while back. It was a place her and I had gone as children. As it turned out all of the animals in captivity made me sad. Very sad really. And this gorilla became a focus of those feelings as I wondered what he was thinking trapped in this cement exhibit with fake trees and twenty odd other gorillas. And I started to think how we all are trapped and started to contemplate my own captivity.
