My Life has Become

I have all of these memories
That come on back to me
I don’t know what to do
I don’t know what I should do with them

Out of nowhere they cover me…
Like a breaking beam of light
Like the star dust in the night
Like the sun coming up upon the ocean….
What to do?

Sometimes it is hair
Or the smell of perfume
Someone’s house or maybe someone’s room
Some place I can’t put my finger on it

Like a flash it comes upon me
And I’m held captive
In this beam of light
And I can’t let go
It’s my whole life
Revolves around these memories
What to do?
I don’t know what to do about them

As if my whole life has become
Nothing but a memory
As if my whole being (has become the past)
