just one lonely shoggoth from yuggoth
born and bred to build temples for the elder things
my opalescent pustules are nebulous
perfect for placing cyclopean stones in rings
they taught us how to build
to breathe without gills
to make castles in the hills
and now they’re gone
because one fateful day
the monsters from rl’yeh
came back to have their way
the city’s ours
we lived without fear
for millions of years
but sometimes even shoggoths have to die
I thought it would be fun
to be the only one
but now I’m so lonesome I could cry
