Burn

Don’t let it go, don’t let it burn out so slow; like a bar of soap in your match-jar.
Cause even when things hurt the most, don’t let it go.
And when the wick burns out, when your house remains a parsed kind of fall.
When the rambling chords, make no sense at all.
When the puzzles fit, they still remain,
So many pieces, to be re-arranged.
And it’s strange, living in cage, eventually the walls seem so wide, eyes

And the washroom’s full, and the pipe’s been rattling for years,
Cause everyone’s so clean, and the rest of us, are used like the sink
Not like the bed
Yeah, never like the bed

So cut it down, unwrap the vines on the chimney stack, it’s overgrown,
Cause even when things remain so unknown, it’s hard to let em go.
And when the flame runs out, when the dark feels asleep on the couch.
When the broken clocks, tick no more,
Remain on the wall like antique ghosts,
And it’s close, living estranged, eventually the walls seem to be crumbling in place

And the closet’s full, and the skeletons have been knocking for years,
Cause everyone’s so dead, and the rest of us, still making resolutions
Year after year
Yeah, year after year

We try our best, and if we don’t succeed, we try harder again
And if fail twice more, and twice again, we’ll do better next year
It’s all in faith,
Yeah it’s all in the glamour and sheer

So don’t let it go, don’t let it burn out , hollow
Cause when things hurt the most, you’re on the verge of filling empty holes,
Rise from ash, alight like coals.
Anything worth fighting for, comes so slow

This one's a grower. Took me a couple of listens. Love how your guitar playing seems to be changing. I like the percussive guitar styles you've used as well (in fact, I've been trying to figure out how to use them myself - not much success yet!) so don't drop them altogether!

Saved!
