Tin Man
Will Stelter
Rough Take: Recorded on what I had available (Cell Phone)
Made of iron, I’m made of blood
Raise your arms against me, and you’ll feel the flood,
“Cause I don’t need to run.
I won’t sleep, til you’re gone.”
My axe kept eating, wood and flesh,
Until there was no man, only hollowedempty chest.
My neighbor, the tinsmith, he knewbest,
How to smelt the pieces, affix them tothe rest
Now I live alone,
Your ghost has come and gone.
This empty, forsaken home,
Is all that I’ve got, all that I’ve got.
So I ran out and cursed the gods,
Into the flames, and I became an ark.
How could anyone love half a man
Half a man, with no a heart.
Now I sit, a lonely pyre,
Smoldering from inside this cold desire.
Rusted bones and anchored tread,
Sometimes I wish the axe had been mydeath.
Now I live alone,
Your ghost has come and gone.
This empty, un-planted home,
Is all that I’ve got, all that I’ve got.
So I ran out and cursed the gods,
Into the flames, and I became an ark.
How could anyone love half a man
Half a man, with no a heart.
So I ran out and choked the odds,
Cursed by a witch, and I became an ark.
How could anyone love half a man,
Half a man, with no heart.
A tin man, with no heart.
A tin man, with no heart.
A tin man, with no heart.
