It is said that the Valley of the Kings is understandably a haunted and sacred place...hence the start and end of this composition, being no. 7 in the Fusion Soundscapes project....and hopefully evoking a sense of awe and majesty walking in the…

So, as a major change from countryside walking...a random leap for no. 6 in this series to visit the Greek Goddess of the Hunt...Artemis. More discordant, but hopefully capturing some drama!!

My latest Soundscape hopefully evokes an atmospheric evening in the desert, as outside the tent the girls make their mournful cries before the local musicians strike up a dance beat.....

Cover number 2 - I've given this Paul Carrack classic a 'live' feel - don't ask why...other than I was inspired to lay down my version of the track after seeing him and his band in concert here earlier in the year....just brilliant!!

**** Jan 17 2015 - Remixed. I was always kinda disappointed with what the original mix sounded like. Listening to it the other day I realised what it is - I'd mixed the vocals too loud. This reduced the "stereo" and killed off a lot of the life…

A symphonic overture. The piece has a fast, rhythmically propulsive 'A' section, a contrasting meditative 'B' section, and a recap with some extensions. This piece was a finalist prize winner in the 2008 'Realize Music' contest, an international…

And here's another song from 1994, with a sparkling new "Andrew Russe Band" arrangement fresh from the broom-cupboard. Like most of my songs, it was written with an acoustic guitar, a pen, and an A4 pad. The ones written like this all have…

And this is the last of the little threesome of In Your Hands, Little Thing, and this one, When I Try To Be Me. It's in the key of 4th fret and was written just over a month later than the other two, on 19th March 1994. I'm not sure I did…

For no. 3 in this soundscape compilation, I have imagined strolling along the waters edge, contemplating life on a blissful calm day with the relaxing shoreline sounds all around me....!

Yeah, nice one. We were meant to have a holiday in St Ives at the end of March. Luckily, the timing of everything worked out (just) that we got all our money back, trains and everything. But we didn't get our shore reflections... and watching on a Cam at the time, some buggers keep sitting in "our" seat! LOL

So for the second in the Fusion Soundscape project, I envisaged a few characters meeting up in one of the lonely passageways in the Underground near midnight, and having a bit of a soulful jam....! Hopefully have captured a little of the bleakness…

Digging these soundscapes. This one can't be London, though, it sounds far too clean and healthy for the Underground I know!! :)

OK, so after the Lockdown Orchestrations project, I have moved to a new series of pieces I am calling Fusion Soundscapes. What I am trying to do here is paint a picture using some sound effects, and with a mix of orchestral and electric/rock…

Originally classically trained, but then a Rock influenced musician throughout life, playing keys in very many bands, duos etc, over the years, and also including for a few years from 2008 a member of a touring Pink Floyd tribute. Currently an occasional guest member of the local rock and blues band, Dangerous Things. However, in this enforced Lockdown I have gone back to my more classical roots, and really majoring in on short epic style movie themes and trailers. I have completed a series of what I have called Lockdown Orchestrations, and now moved on to Fusion Soundcapes. Also, very much enjoying various musical collaborations with local musical colleagues - in the virtual world until the Lockdown is over, and where I am calling these the Paul Matthews Experiments!
