Once of City Steve and the Neon Lights. this was my first cover.
This song is done in the style of "the rake Song" by the decemberist. yeah. that just happened.
Wow, what a surprise and honor! Probably would have been a lot easier if I'd shipped you the chords/tabs/sheet music :-) This is really an impressive bit of work, reconstructing a song, with a very different feel, and have that new piece stand so nicely on its own. Well played and sung!

Drakonis
The cover I did off Uglifruit's 2010 RPM submission. The drums are a pair of hotrod sticks, that I made, hitting my keyboard table. The "kick drum is the stick hitting the pop screen while the mic was on.
I still need to fade...
Ha, another marvellous cover of a cracking track! You have such a great knack of picking the right songs! Am loving this spinoff project - hope you're going for the full CD!

This album sounds like what would have happened if Butch Vig had gotten Dave Grohl to work with Peter Murphy and the cure. Fantastic vocals with edge and dark ambience.
Now a decade old, I thought I would revisit this mix again. I have done this a few times as I continue to learn the craft. I thought it would be a good exercise to undertake as a start thinking about writing again for the next record.
AS always, wonderfully done. Crisper tones and higher fidelity. Your voice sounds amazing; every time I try to remix something I lose the charm, you have kept the charm and added sparkle!
Brian wrote a song.
Wilsun covered it.
Wilsun gave me his Garageband file.
I teamed up with a robot orchestra and we made this.
Hopefully Brian and Wilsun will like it.

A lot of interesting things happening in that orchestra, great remix of an already great cover! Way to exploit Wilsun's awesome voice and push it out onto it's own!

Holy crap this is awesome! Chills hit me when I heard the strings, more chills hit when the change over happened. What a fantastic way to end it with the telephone echos and signature Wilson oohs! Thank you so much for posting this! I love it!
Matt Ferrara doesn't get enough love around here. He's a brilliant arranger and lyricist and it's rare, if ever, that someone covers one of his songs. So I set out to correct that. As usual, it's faster than the original because, well, it's…
Begin to see me, worthy Sailor, navigator
Living on the ocean for days
The spirit of the sea lies below us
Above us, dark skies of gray
I just can’t let it go
The search for the grail has gone cold
But a wreck of a ship lies below us…
Some interesting changes from songs 4 to get to this point, and even more interesting changes in this song. Feels like a good tune to sum up the album with. Well done on you 2021 RPM!
Set em up one at a time
Then knock em down to ease my mind
I‘m just trying to unwind
From a world that’s less than kind
And I’m just trying to decide
Were you just wasting my time?
The thought has come to my mind
We’re at the end of the…
Feels like a departure form the opening three songs while still maintaining cohesion. Very interested to see where the rest of the album goes from here.
They do it all the time
Prey upon your fears
Hang around them long enough
They’ll Play you like their fool
Play you like the lottery
Time and time again
You see things never change
You’re nothing but their fool
Do it once or do it…
Was Passing Through
I only Stopped to stay the night
As the morning came
I sped off into the light
I can go anywhere
I’ll go anywhere I like
Wish you were with me
On this wild ride
Wish you were with me
Riding through the night…

Comments on A Beautiful Scene's stuff
I don't know the original but this is great very good.
Wow. You did a much better job with her songs than I did. Nice work. I really like the transition into Rest.
haha i had no idea you covered these, awesome!

Holy crap the lead singer on this song absolutely kills that chorus!

Sounds great Tim!

This one is wonderfully outside the realm "pop." This is a great song.
Fantastic opener to the album, so full of life!
I now want to hear Wilsun reading Frost or Poe in the back ground of this.
I need more test tube drinks and glowsticks. My work is not going to like this at all. Too bad for them because I needs to HAVE THIS LOUDER!
HAHAHa, look at this guy AMUC, so easily dis...ooh skittles! What were we talking about again?
A wonderful recording indeed! Finally someone bringing some pop punk to alonetone!
Wonderful rendition!
