Franky's Boat
Franky’s boat is too small for the by’s
You could maybe hold a lobster pot
Or a seal for flipper pie
We need to bring in more than this and I’m not gonna lie
Franky’s boat is too small for the by’s
I’m headed to St. John’s
To the teller I will try
To get the money for a bigger boat
I’ll make it out pine
The teller tells me “Sorry sir there’s no money for your boat
Cause everyone that’s from your town has defaulted on their loan”
Teller tell me please well I’m down on one knee
You knows I’m not them and you knows they aren’t me
And I need to change plans
There’s no cod in the sea
And I’m breaking my back
And you can’t live life for free
So we built a bigger with all the money blown
We couldn’t pay the monthly bill
Defaulted on our loan
But a fisherman without a boat’s like a dog without a bone
So I told the wife, “Get the teller on the phone”
I’ll use my brother’s voice
They won’t know that it’s me
They’ll never help me out again
My brother’s credit free
“I’m sorry to tell you sir.
Your brother’s done us bad.
If he had of paid us back, then we would give you chance”
Teller tell me please well I’m down on one knee
You knows I’m not him you knows he ain’t me
And I will do you good
Why can’t you just see
It’s my own brother’s fault
What’s that got to do with me?
