I think I’ll drink
til this makes sense
and that might be a damn long time

I’m at the bottom of the well
but at least the water’s become wine

Is this what passes for a fantasy?
it’s all green screen and electrical tape

To seize the dream would be a fallacy

With the slate wiped clean when I finally wake

on the edge of the metroscape
the facade is wearing down
the lights burn out as embers
there’s no life in this town

and if I were to guess my fate
on what I once thought was solid ground
perhaps this was chance or circumstance
but there’s no answer to be found

is this what passed for fantasy?
there’s a hole in the sky
I think I’ll make my escape

to have seized this dream
