If We Should Sing Together

Pop-rock song. Recorded 2009.

I wrote this several years earlier and rehearsed it with the last band I was in.

The recording was my first “serious” project on my Boss MBR, I was stunned that you could do something like this on a little silver box that fits in your shirt pocket.

The only outboard gear was the mic (and a desk to give it the phantom power) and a Vox Tonelab LE for the amp modelling. Everything else, drums, mixing, mastering and all, was done on the MBR.

If We Should Sing Together - A A J Russe

How good it would be
With moments to go
If we were to find the ones we know
Touch of a hand and meet the end

Everyone smiles
Some even laugh
We raise our voices clear at last
Now here’s a chance to sing our song

If we should sing together
Maybe we’d stay together
Do you think we could sing together
Not bitterly

Sing

Aha aha aha ah ah ah…

Under your sky
Lay down to rest
One little boy has done his best
Tells us the emperor has no clothes

Where are your gates
There’s no wedding gown
No one is waiting with a crown
Nobody washed a robe for you

If we should sing together
Take off our skins, what ever
Do you think we could sing together
Not bitterly

No?
Let it end
Bitterly

Aha aha aha ah ah ah…

How good it would be
With moments to go
If we were to find the ones we know

How good it would be
Yeah, right at the end
To find out you had at least one friend

If we should sing together
Maybe we’d stay together

Great stuff Andrew. Have a listen to my solo stuff...Tiggy Acworth. Many thanks for so many kind words...keep singing and eventually the world will hear!

Hearing traces of early Bowie! Woot! Love you in this poppier guise, but your voice shines fantastically towards the rock out close! (Also, loving those "ba ba baas"!)

Some nice dynamics, sounds like a pretty polished pop rock tune!
