This is our submission for the 2022 RPM challenge, compose and record an album in the month of February. When we signed up, we chose "World Music" and "Field Recording" for our style of music, not really sure how that would influence our project. We had fun doing this, hope you enjoy it.
When I was five, my mother gave me a little stuffed animal, a hippo, and though I tried I could not think of a name for him, so I called him Nothing. Nothing the hippopotamus. I was in the yard playing with Nothing when I made up the Nothing song, and I sang it all day. This February is the first time I have recorded it.
my mother would love that.

Trying to simplify my life, after overcomplicating it for many years. The at-home Covid life has left me lots of time but not enough all at once. This year I welcome the chance to produce a single track, with more time spent on it to get it…
My 7th song for the 2022 RPM challenge. This one is a bit more pensive and slow moving. I always love adding harmony. I was thinking of Bjork (who I love) when I wrote it. I included some flute so my sister can play along next time we jam…
Begin to see me, worthy Sailor, navigator
Living on the ocean for days
The spirit of the sea lies below us
Above us, dark skies of gray
I just can’t let it go
The search for the grail has gone cold
But a wreck of a ship lies below us…
I got tired of playing by the rules. (The album concept was using only portable instruments which I could carry in one trip.)
This track uses every functional piece of gear I own at least once. In no particular order . . . TR-606, TB-303…

...there is nothing like a dead line to charge ones imagination.
When we first signed up, we chose World music and Field recording as our style of music, hence this song.
