Bits of this (starting like 1:30-ish) reminds me of some 8-bit chiptune stuff, style-wise. (Ever listened to Anamanaguchi?) Might be fun to try bitcrushing some of your parts to see if you dig that sound. But then again, I tend to favor grit over clean sounds when given the choice.
The dissonant pad near the end (4:00-ish) seems to distract me a bit, mostly since the rest of the tune wasn't really dissonant. Feels like less dissonance there would be better, or more added elsewhere in the tune. ;)
possibly one of the most atmospheric tunes i have come across in a long while. Having said that my Carbon Lifeforms CDs are gathering dust, might take them down in a bit :L
I abuse Jeff Lynn's (ELO) wonderful song.
I sing it a minor 3rd lower then originally recorded by ELO since I wanted to use my 12-string guitar and it is a lot easier to play tuned down to reduce the tension a bit.
voice
12 string rhythm…
The chorus is adapted from "O Death Rock Me Asleep", by Anne Boleyn, while imprisoned in the Tower of London, waiting for her execution.

this is a very deep poem. I like the narration also :)
This reminds me heavily of evanescence. And i like this just as much as I liked the song Nobody's Fool, which is to say a hell of a lot :D Great song!
