Ballad of the Flexible Bullet
I wanted to write a song with piano, it pretty much wrote itself. (The chromatic structure of the guitar solo had been in my head untabbed for years.)
LYRICS:
Flexible bullet fired at me
Following some unknown trajectory
Piercing the walls
I’ve put up all around here
They were my brothers, my partners in crime
Evident unintelligent design
Then they evolved
and they left me
all alone here
Ballistic
I am mystic
as the bullet goes
it makes a hole I can escape
A soldier
I feel older
then you’d ever know
Wiser men than me
have pulled the trigger
Flexible bullet
is never gunshy
Aiming is pointless
I’m the bulls-eye
Only I can’t portray
the famous role of
orphaned prey
Ballistic
I am bullshit
or so the story goes
Like lightning straight from heaven
a strobe light in the dark
Eureka I have found it
It’s no day at the park
Flexible bullet
You've got some neat songs. Someone should give you a contract.
